i just came across these great raffiaware footed bowls. nine different pastel colors. i decided to put them in my vintage etsy. they are so pretty and fun......maybe i should keep them.....

bazaart 2010

i thought you might like to see my booth from this past weekend's Bazaart at The American Visionary Art Museum.
it's always such a great show! thank you to everyone who came out and a huge thanks to AVAM.
it's always so fun to see the artists every year too. there is always amazing, unusual art to be seen and purchased.

chips of paint everywhere........

As you may or may not know- my husband and I have just started a HUGE renovation project. A lovely old victorian farmhouse.
I am going to start sharing the process here.
Both to let family and friends who are far away see what we are up to and so that we have something to look back on when we are done.
Structurally it's in pretty good shape.........but needs everything else.
So, I will be including these updates here on my blog that has previously been mostly my art.
I hope you enjoy seeing the progress. Slow as it may be.

my favorite place.....

really ......i am so excited! Bazaart is just two weeks away..............The American Visionary Art Museum is my most favorite place. I love Baltimore almost as much. I'm so happy to be a vender at Bazaart for the third year. I have lots of new stuff........lots of very fun furniture........small paintings.....big paintings............little stuff for stockings.......now if only John Waters would come say hello .......... *sigh* a girl can dream :)

i've been away for awhile, painting and moving.
i've been in sad mode...... my dad died.... we are in transition.....
i'm a homebody with no home.....
and people don't slow down for turtles.
well there....now i have probably made you sad.....i really hope not......and i remind myself and you that it will all be okay.....

There is some very cute stuff in there to vote on, but I'm hoping you pick my creation :)

#3 is out!!!!!

This is number three in a series of limited edition creations I have just started to offer in my Etsy shop.
Part of a limited edition of 50, each signed and numbered.
Once all 50 are gone that's it. They are gone.
So far I'm planning on coming out with a new design every month.
Designed by me, each paper element is cut out by hand and put together and made from my original artwork.
Inspired by the German paper holiday ornaments and Easter eggs my Mom used to hang on our tree and put in our baskets.
This one is a big eyed rabbit with a little chick on it's head. Can be a box or basket. He is sitting amongst some pretty pink skull flowers. Great for Easter or spring. Fill it with grass and candy or a special gift.

Measurements- 5.5"x 4"x 4"

Jason is away with work and to cheer myself up I planted these paper white bulbs. They are so pretty. Please ignore the wall, it's not so pretty.

New Limited Edition P-Monkey Ornaments

This is the first ornament in a series of limited edition creations I am just starting to offer in my Etsy shop.
Part of a limited edition of 50, each signed and numbered.
Once all 50 are gone that's it. They are gone.
So far I'm planning on coming out with a new design every month.
Inspired by the Easter eggs my Mom used to put in my Easter baskets, with the peepholes that looked into glittery little pastel worlds.
This introductory ornament is a pretty pastel bird house....... but wait....something isn't right..... there is a silly orange cat inside! How did he fit in there? The birds don't look too worried.
These are packaged in little gift boxes with a gift card attached- blank and ready for you to sign.

Library Table

I have been working on this table off and on for a couple months. It's done and is on display at Eclectica Gallery in Boulder City, NV. It has lots of hand painted details, tassel fringe and silver leaf.
